10 Simple Home Businesses You Can Start With No Money

For most starting a business is just a dream.

Having the ability to set your own schedule, do what you love, and set your own rules.

In fact, many of you just like me have degrees and still can’t find a job that makes you happy.

Personally, I just don’t like others telling me what to do.

And I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

Every day I see new ways people are making money from home. No, I’m not talking about a little pocket change, people are really making a full-time salary and some beyond just by staying home and doing something they love. Well for some it’s not a matter of love but a matter of convenience but who really cares if you can stay home in your pajamas and cash in.

Usually, when we hear people talking about starting a business, people assume that they already have a lot of money or they plan on taking out a loan.

When it comes to the online world of businesses you need neither and now I have started my own home business and I can guarantee you I will never look back.

Advantages of Owning a Home Business

  • Choose your hours
  • Work at your own pace
  • Be your own boss
  • No limit to your salary

Everyone want’s those advantages but they don’t just happen becauses you decided to start your own business. It takes a lot of work to get to this point.

There’s this HUGE misconception that people who work from home are lazy. How rude!!!

Let me shut that down right now. Individuals who have their own home business will usually work long and hard before ever seeing a penny. We will sometimes work 80 hours so we don’t have to work 40. We don’t have a manager tell us what we need to do so we are the manager, supervisor, employee, help desk, etc.

So please don’t let anyone tell you that since you want to work from home you’re lazy.

10 Home Businesses You Can Start with Little to No Money

I am going to share with you home businesses that anyone can start. There are two kinds of home businesses you can have an online based home business or a home business as your physical location that you operate out of.

Online Home Businesses

1. Blogging

Blogging, really?

Yes!

Many people aren’t sure what to make of the blogging world, simply because they often get a bad rap because many people don’t see them as businesses and a lot of them aren’t.

But what many don’t know is that blogs can be the foundation for strong businesses. No, that doesn’t mean instant success and actually running a blog is hard work. Trust me I know!

But ANYBODY can do it, but it requires time and effort.

If you get started and decide to want to that this blogging thing seriously, you will have to eventually spend some money on. However, at the beginning of your trial run to get a feel for the blogosphere just use free tools. Speaking of free checkout this FREE 12 day blogging boot camp.

2. Freelance Writing

You’re worried about not being a professional writer. No problem!

Truth is you don’t have to be a professional writer to get paid to write. There are thousands of sites looking for people to write articles for them.

If you already have a blog then you are off to a good start because you will be able to showcase your writing abilities.

But if you don’t, no worries. Check out different job boards looking for writers. Initially, these jobs will be lower-paying than what they are worth, but it’s a way to build up your portfolio.

Places to look around for writing opportunities are:

3. Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistants are often referred to as VAs, so I don’t want you thinking when you see VA it’s referring to Veterans Assistance! 😂

VAs are basically people that help others do whatever is needed to help them successfully run their business.

For example, if I were to hire a VA to help me with my business (my blog) then I would have them run my Facebook and Pinterest account along with going through emails.

As a VA you get first-hand experience of how the business operates and can even take that experience and start your own.

4. Amazon

There are quite a few ways to work from home with Amazon here are the top five ways:

  • Mechanical Turk
  • Customer Service (check here for openings)
  • Amazon Affiliate
  • Kindle eBooks
  • Amazon FBA

5. Etsy

There is nothing like a good Etsy shop. I often swoon over the vast display of things I want to buy and put in my home.

But seriously, you can make a killing on Etsy. Just look at all the successful Esty sellers raking in six figures every year. That could be you!

Other Home Businesses

6. Cleaning Service

Offices, residences, stores, restaurants they all need to be cleaned and they make for some great potential customers. The crazy thing about this is you can get a client as soon as you can make a Walmart run to stock up on your cleaning supplies.

Take it from me everybody needs a break from cleaning especially when it’s a Holiday and you have to host, cook, and clean.

7. Event planner

Some people are just naturally gifted in this area. They can come up with color schemes and whimsical designs off the top of their head while other like myself tend to struggle.

If you are someone who is naturally gifted in the area of event planning and have a knack for getting things done no matter how hectic things can be, then this is most definitely the job for you.

8. Household Organizer

Do you have OCD when it comes to being organized? Yea I know the feeling. There is nothing like a clean and organized home.

The problem with organization is staying organized. I have for children so it often seems just as soon as I’m organized, I’m disorganized all over again. It will be a miracle if I can get it to last a week.

But if you can provide a solution for that, then I would most definitely recommend you looking into becoming a household organizer. It’s no secret that organization leads to productivity.

9. Property Manager

Have you ever seen or had a landlord that had so many tenants/properties they couldn’t keep track? Well, this is where a property manager comes in. You will stay busy collecting rent, fielding calls, showing vacant properties, and setting up work orders for repairs. But it’s important that you be highly organized and efficient.

10. Babysitting

Babysitting has never been my thing, probably since I have four kids. But it’s just something about other people’s kids that irritate you.

I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.

But on the other hand you have people who absolutely adores kids, rather it’s their kids or someone else’s.

If you want to do something bigger you can start an in-home daycare, or if you not ready for that quite yet check out care.com or other babysitter listing sites. Better yet you can put out an ad.
